An excellent large arboretum with a large number of plant collections, native Oak-Hickory climax forest, and the Schulenberg Prairie that involves both savannah and native Midwestern prairie.
World Class Arboretum with an ongoing research program. Phenomenal educational programming available to the public. I love this place. I thoroughly enjoy every nook and cranny when I visit. I could live there. Am particularly impressed with their permeable pavers parking lot. Extremely environmentally conscious.

This is my stomping grounds. I have grown up and learned a lot of my plants here. It has continued to grow into a fantastic arboreteum. By far and away one of the greatest kids gardens in the US is here. It does attract a whole new range of visitors than normal, but that is good for the industry. Highly worth stopping by! But make sure you have plenty of time for it's many many acres.
