Beautiful place to visit to see plants suitable for zone 5 growing zone. Plants are well labeled along with interesting antecdotes about medicinal properties of some plants. All types of plants - perrenials and annuals, sun and shade loving plants, hybrids and wild - are represented including a Biblical garden. Built during the 1930s, it is the product of Depression era work groups the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the Works Progress Administration (WPA). Many of the sculptures and hardscaping were created by artisans in the programs. They also provide gardening and art workshops in their Education & Visitor Center.

Excellent gardens. Certainly with their connection to rose developments that is their specialty. Nicely laid out and marked well. Many uncommon plants there.
