I arrived 3 months ago to Baton Rouge, and have been there twice. Both times, someone was able to assist me, even walking around to point out which plants would be best for the growing conditions I had. Granted the employees were not just standing around, as if waiting for someone to come in, so they could run right up to you and ask if you needed any help, these people were working, taking care of the needs of other customers and taking care of their product. Therefore, I did have to say to someone, "Can you please help me find.....?"
When I returned a few days later, needing more of the same plants, I was able to find the same person who had assisted me on my first visit and he remembered me. As they'd moved the plants I needed to another location, he showed me where they were, went to assist someone else and then came back to see if I was finding what I needed, particularly, as they were running low of the color I was looking for.
The only disappointment I had was when I called to find out if they had row cover, which, being so warm in Baton Rouge, nobody seems to carry. I'm from colder climates where row cover is used a lot.
I don't know what happened the time the other reviewer went there, but this has not been my experience and I have new friends and acquaintances who also rave over this place.
The staff of Louisiana Nursery on Perkins Rd. acts to busy to help you, and most plants look diseased and unkempt. I was very unhappy with my experience.
