Wooded ravines, pathways, a picturesque winding creek, and many waterfalls await the hiker at this lovely nature area located just across the Louisiana border in Mississippi (near St. Francisville, Louisiana). Whether you choose the challenging trail or the less-challenging trail, you're sure to enjoy your day hiking at Clark Creek Natural Area. Be sure to stop at the store on the road leading up to the Natural Area to pick up the most current map and ask for any tips they may have about which waterfalls are putting on the best show at the time.
My family and I have hiked this area many, many times. Our favorite is to go directly along the creekbed, stopping to picnic along the way. When we go with less experienced hikers, we usually stick to the developed pathways that have stairs for the ravines and decks for resting. Either way, it's a wonderful outdoor experience.
