Information on Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park

In my opinion it is best to visit here in spring, fall or winter. I live close by but it is way too hot for me in the summer. This is a nice park if you are interested in desert plants. They are planning on adding a demonstration garden highlighting xeriscape tips.
Features include: 1.5-mile Desert Discovery Trail (1.2-mile easy loop around hill and optional 0.3-mile more difficult spur trail to the top of the hill)
Plant identification placards with scientific, English common name and Spanish common name (great!)
Picnic tables and shade ramadas
Science demonstration plot
Parking area
Composting, waterless toilet facilities
150-seat amphitheater
