Bennett's is certainly a must for the avid gardener as well as the beginner. We like to stroll through the landscaped gardens and sip a Coke or hot coffee. Spring is obviously the best time to go, but in the fall they have a fall festival the fun, as well. They have a good website http://www.bennettnurseries.com that gives a teaser of what you can expect.

I absolutely LOVE Bennett's. We have shopped there for years. Even when we don't have a specific plant in mind, we like to stop in, pick out one of their cold drinks, and browse the nursery. The staff is superb and always willing to go above and beyond to help you. They are always happy to give us more information about a plant or suggest companions depending on the light and location conditions. Their experience, customer service, plant quality, and selection are by far the best we've seen anywhere.

I have lived in Huntsville 37 years and am a Master Gardener. George Bennett has as fine a nursery as you can find any where. Not only are his plants second to none, his willingness to help mature and new gardners is outstanding. It is always worth a trip to Bennett's nursery.

This was my first trip to Bennett's Nursery. I thought I had walked into a botanical garden. As you enter and walk through the greenhouse, filled with perennials on neatly labeled rows, you exit out into the remainder of the nursery. It is landscaped with walkways and gardens using the varieties of plants they sell at the nursery. Around each corner is another beautiful display.

There are more greenhouses out back, all labeled to perfection. The variety of choices is outstanding and the plants are in A+ condition. The staff is helpful and I was given a tour by Mr. Bennett himself, who you can tell takes pride in his nursery. They have a testing area in the rear of the gardens to determine next years choices and durability in our weather. They are out for everyone to admire and it shows their dedication to providing hardy plants for our region.

During October they have live music on the weekends with a BBQ. The service and choices are amazing. I will drive from Birmingham to Huntsville to buy all my plants now. Oh, Mr. Bennett's son has a store next door, appropriately named across the pond. He has all you need for your pond, including the fish. I did not have time to look in it, as I spent three hours in the nursery and would have spent more if they were not closing, but I will make sure I cross the pond next visit.

If you are ever within a two hours drive from Bennett's Nursery, I would recommend you take it, as it is more of an experience than a store that sells plants.

I visited this nursery when delivering my kids to camp after asking for nursery recommendations. It was an absolutely fabulous visit. The wooded areas, the train, the greenhouses and the service. If I'm back in the area, I'll definately return.
