I have had multiple plants growing in the landscape for 7 years now. This is a very versatile plant. Ideally, it likes to be around 2-3...Read More feet high and round but requires pruning to maintain the shape and size.

In the front beds, they are kept pruned at 3' tall and have formed a perfect ring around the palms. They flower too! The bees love them and the mockingbirds build nests in them.

In the back "wild beds" they are over 8 feet tall, yes you read that correctly. They are never pruned there and have grown up to reach the light. They are very leggy there, though, but we have lots of other plants that cover it. I like the cheery chartreuse peeking out above the smaller plants.

They can take FULL FLORIDA SUN and are fairly drought tolerant once established, but like a lot of water to establish well. I just purchased some more at Home Depot, 4 for $10 in little pots: this plant grows FAST and does require a monthly pruning in FL to keep it tidy.

We are in zone 10A in SW Florida near the coast.

We had 2 harsh winters in a row a couple years ago and these pushed right through, just thinned out a little but bounced right back. Highly recommend this plant.
