I would say here in Billings, MT you could expect your first harvest in five weeks after planting from seed. We got 4 or five cuttings from it until it started turning bitter in August. That would have been a good time to plant another row but we didn't. The first four cuttings were delicious and we did not have to buy lettuce last summer. I watered at least every other day and fertilized lightly with vegetable fertilizer in solution about every two weeks. The earwigs love this stuff and we had to be careful to remove them when cleaning up the cuttings. Growing just one 10' row this summer as that will be plenty for our family of four.
