I usually try different brand of watermelons each year but I always grow the Charleston Gray. It's been the most reliable one in my garde...Read Moren. The inside is sweet, pink, and juicy. I did have a few that had blossom end rot this year but I cut off the end and the rest was still as sweet as the full grown melons. Seeds are big and easy to remove and the kids love it so much that I cannot cut up the melon soon enough.

A selection made by a Mr. Stevenson in India. Identical to Charleston Grey except that it has higher resistance to fusarium wilt.
