H. helix 'Yellow Ripple' is a great golden evergreen, despite its typical ivy tendencies. It displays its best golden variegation in full sun, becoming lime green in deeper areas of shade, and grows more lush and full in full sun as well. No matter how much it spreads & climbs, 'Yellow Ripple' will remain one of my favorite plants in the garden for its beautiful evergreen foliage & strong-willed character.

It seems to be less prone to winterburn than other ivies I have, and it does not grow nearly as fast as the species. - A nicer alternative.
