Clump-forming. The habit is sprawling, with most of the foliage on the flowering stems. Mounding to 18" when grown alone, but it becomes a scrambler when grown closely with other plants.
The Royal Horticultural Society lists this as a hybrid, G. lambertii x G. traversii. The species G. lambertii is reputed to be weedy.
A plant for cool summers and mild winters. In N. America, this would adapt to the Pacific Northwest, but not the east. I would expect Z8 to be the limit of its hardiness.
