Slow to medium growth, rounded, foliage dark green & lustrous holds late, soil - moist, slightly acid but okay in slightly higher pH, Bloom May/early June, fruit bright scarlet berreies Sept./Oct. Propogate cultivars by softwood cuttings which is easy. Use as specimen, shrub border, all purpose plant, 3 season plant. Cultivars are preferred to the species.
Should be used more often.
