Why is this plant (alyssum) referred to as an annual? My mother has some in her garden, and it has been there for several years! (95820 ...Read Morezip code - Sacramento, CA.) I am thinking of planting some around large steppingg stones, but cannot be bothered with annuals. I need low-maintenance/care plants, which means plants I do not have to re-plant annually.
