Found mostly in TX and the southern Plains, but also some spots around the Great Lakes. Supposed to have some bright red dry fruit of capsules in July-August. The plant in the collection was probably too young to bear fruit, so I saw none in August 2014. Maybe it needs another plant for pollination. Botanically interesting.
