Last ye...Read Morear, we added Apache and a Black Satin, but only the Apache, Arapaho, and Navaho made it through our Texas drought. This year, I am adding some Ouachita to see how this works out, but so far Navaho have been good producers and have grown and spread vigorously while the other varieties have struggled. It is a little early to tell with all except the Arapaho and Navaho, but if you want a thornless blackberry that seems able to withstand Texas heat and drought conditions, Navaho is the one.

This year, 2007, it has put out new canes, covered the old canes with green growth and is loaded with flower buds, I am excited, I found another 'Navaho" this month and planted it with the older plant. Today I found the "Arapaho" variety and planted it this evening. I will upload a photo when the flowers are blooming.
