The one downside to this one is that it is more inclined to lean or tip than my other Hyacinths, although it is in full sun. Still, the large blooms are lovely and of course it smells fabulous.

Fragrant, tall, and blooms early (late Feb in my Zone 9 garden). I planted mine in 2002 and she has bloomed faithfully every year since then even though I do not dig the bulbs up. In fact I started with 5 bulbs and 6 blooms, but now get 8-10 blooms.
'Madame Sophie' was introduced by J A Bronkhorst in 1929 and is listed as a sport of the white single 'L'Innocence'. In the closeup photo you can see the green tips on the young buds which are very similar to L'Innocence. The buds are very large --see the photo compared to a quarter coin.

Introduced in the early 1900's, this double-blooming hyacinth is hard to find. It's flowers are fragrant and pure white. It grows about 10" tall.
