The ground was mucky and I just scooped out a hole, popped them in and hoped for the best. Right after that, we had one of the most brutal west KY winters in years and the ground was frozen for days at a time...but here they are, blooming like I planted them in October. I'm thrilled with this great keepsake...it was the perfect gift got a gardening aunt!

These are a gorgeous reddish orange color. Black eye/center is very interesting looking.
