It does quite...Read More well and in spring through fall is outside with filtered shade except for full sun 2-3 hours in mid-afternoon. I occasionally move it to shelter to avoid rainfall. I give it summer water infrequently -- up to 2 months between waterings and none in winter. In winter (December-February) it stays in a plastic pop-up greenhouse to keep it out of frost.
I also planted a small specimen into the ground in fall 2018. It did fine through the winter, protected from frost only by leaf litter. However it did poorly in summer 2018 and died by August. It was receiving water every two weeks after daily high temperatures exceeded 100.
