Has a large dark green leaf and is a very attractive. Update Oct. 2008, This one is a fast grower, is over six feet and had to be moved outside my pool cage. Still potted since it will have to be moved inside in case of a cold front this winter.

Very attractive solitary irregulary pinnate palm from the Moluccas island and New Guinea where it can grow up to 25' tall (never seen one...Read More anywhere near that tall, though). Has very ornamental recurved leaves with large leaflets most of which are unsplit or variably split until palm is much older. Terminal leaflets are very large and wedge-shaped. Dark green leaves and dark blue-green crownshaft. Great landscape palm for smaller gardens. Closely related to Gronophyllums

From what I understand, this species has now been relocated in Hydriastele (same species name, though) 2006. This was made official, January 2007 by John Dransfield. All Siphokentia is swallowed up into Hydriastele
