Species Crocus

As its name suggests it's smaller ...Read More- the tepals are only about 2.5 cm long and it stands only 5 cm high overall. The colouring is similar to C. corsicus, but the dark purple markings on the outer tepals are much bolder.

It seems to be a little more difficult to grow here (St John's, Newfoundland, Can. zone 5b) and I eventually lost my first ones, but the second acquisition, planted in a very well drained exposed spot seem to be doing better so far. They have survived 8 years and slightly increased.
