It has been there for about 14 years and it seems to pup where the flowers sprout so it does not die after flowering. This year it had four flower stalks. It is like that every year. The mass of multiple rosettes keep growing.
Mine is hardier that reported above. It has seen 12 degrees and I know of someone else who grows it in Z7. I have seen other guesses at 0F, Maybe in a perfect dry winter kind of place. It seems to be tolerant of cold moisture if it has draining soil. It has seen a 3 day freezing rain event where the soil got so soggy in places, that the cedar trees were falling over..Its bullet proof. I now have 2 other varieties of Agave striata, and they are proving to have a very different form and coloration and jus as tough. One Is Agave striata 'live wires" which turns lavender in the sun and it is proving to be a puppet also. The other is a much more glaucous stiff leaved more traditional A. striata var falcata. They survived a 13F freeze this winter.
