It has flushes of blooms throughout the season, finishing with first frosts, one or two flushes are big ones. It gets mildew badly occasionally if the weather is really dry, but a good watering fixes it. It does have black spot late in the season. The flowers won't open if the rain wets the buds, they ball and rot. It's at least 20 years old and over a metre tall. Sets hips.
