It likes a lot of water, but not boggy conditions. The caudex tends to stay mostly subterranean in this species so it never gets very tall (height listed is leaves shooting out of the ground height). It has nice golden cones (particularly the female cones) frequently. Has some sharp spines on its leaves so careful where planting it.
