Usually flowers in summer to autumn but in cultivation may flower at other times.
In its native habitats, it is often found in deciduous trees and slightly on it's side. This means that it prefers a light shade in the summer and bright filtered sunlight during winter and so the rain never settles in its leaves. The growing medium should be very open for air circulation around its roots and kept moist, especially during the growing season. When watering, make sure the water is soft or rain water and that it doesn't sit in the leaves or they will rot.
This chap loves high humidity (85% during the growing season) and can be a bit difficult indoors as it likes quite cool growing conditions.
