If you do it too early they wont ripen enough and too late and all your fruit falls off the tree and smashed on the ground. Pick some fruit and let it sit a few days then tast. I get more fruit then me, my family, the squrles, the racoons and the birds seem to know what to do with.

We have yet to see a single blossom on the Bartlett but the...Read More Anjou was filled with blossoms after just a year or two, and we harvested five pears from it this year. Something must be pollinating it, because it's not our Bartlett. Jury is still out on the taste for us, husband said "not the best" but not sure if we ate them at the right time (probably too early). It has been a fun little tree while we wait (hopefully!) for our Bartlett to kick in.
