It is in a location where I have had many other plants fail -- I'm not sure why the location is so undesirable. It does have extremes of morning shade and afternoon direct sun, but it seems to be something more than this that is inhospitable. It gets irrigation water every other week from March to October and once a month in winter. Nevertheless, Peedee ingot has been doing well through one and a half winters and one summer. It is a wonderful bright spot of yellow-green.
It came to Dave's Garden's attention that we had two PlantFiles entries for this Liriope - Peedee Ingot and Pee...Read More Dee Gold Ingot. When I started researching to find out if there really were two different cultivars I found many links which spelled them several different ways. This was extremely confusing.
I found in some of the links references to the hybridizer (Ursula Herz) and to her location. This morning I spoke to Mrs. Herz and asked her about the correct name(s). She emphatically stated that there was no Liriope cultivar named Pee Dee GOLD Ingot, that there was only one cultivar of this Liriope, and that its correct spelling was PeeDee Ingot.
I have therefore deleted one PlantFiles entry and revised this one to reflect the correct name.
