The flower is wonderful what an English rose should be full of petals and have a nice fresh scent. Its a light tea scent not over whelming. Like some other DA roses the bloom only lasted briefly. The petals can't hold on, but it make up for it by giving out a lot of blooms in clusters. In the bud stage you can't tell that this will be a rather fluffy flatly open rose, but if you want to pick it for a vase, you have to pick it at the bud stage so you can enjoy it longer. Flower last just around 5 days for my zone. I think Christopher Marlowe flower last the longest more then 2 weeks what a great cut rose!

Great rose, never gets disease even in Virginia's hot muggy summers. Grows very large. Beautiful pink flowers.
Beautiful, but a stingy bloomer for us, and needs protection from the Maine winter.
According to David Austin's 2009 Handbook of Roses, they named this rose in honor of the famous musician, James Galway.
Bred and introduced in England.
