A fond memory, albeit a relatively recent one, is sitting on a bench by our pond with my niece and watching a 'Wood's White Knight' bud o...Read Morepen. I think it took just shy of an hour so, no, it's not quite like a time-lapse film, but it is a neat thing.
The plant takes a fair amount of space -- about twice that of your average day-blooming tropical lily -- and is not as abundant in bloom as the day bloomers. I never had more than two flowers open; most of the time it had a single flower. The leaves are a nice green and the serrated edges contrast nicely with the day-bloomers.
This plant was more of a conversation piece; not at all as decorative as the day blooming tropicals. I have not grown it again since. Some day, I'll try some of the other white night-bloomers and see how they compare.
