And...Read More Nandinas are not that, at least not from what I have observed. There are several of these planted around my town and most of them look ratty and un-kept. Some of the older ones have broken branches, which cause the plant to look awkward and misshapen as it slowly recovers from the damage. The Dwarf Nandina ‘Compacta’ is a nice shrub but, it needs to be manicured occasionally as it ages to keep its tidy form.
