Masja is a majestic flowering shrub and makes a fabulous foundation plant in an area where you don't mind that it is deciduous. They are gorgeous in masse. Here in Atlanta some of my 4 year old Masja are reaching 5’ which is much taller than the reported 3’. I also have several planted in full sun in an oceanfront location on Amelia Island, Zone 8a, and they are absolutely happy. Soil acidity has had only a limited effect on the flower color. Deep pink (slightly tinged with purple in our acid Atlanta soil) with cobalt blue central Anthers, the blooms are more than impressive and very long lasting.
