Tomato 'Glacier'

This is the best early salad/snacking tomato I've ever grown - and it's by far the earliest to ripen.

For early larger si...Read Morezed types, I like Clear Pink or Taxi - but the golf-ball size Glacier is usually a week to ten days ahead of them and provides great little two-bite snacks all season long.

Siberian (not Siberia) is also an extra-early variety I have grown and liked very much, but Glacier seems slightly sweeter.

Last year I gathered all of the full size (small), but unripe tomatoes before the freeze and nearly all of them gradually ripened inside over the next few weeks.
They were still better tasting than anything we'd purchase from the supermarkets.
I try different varieties each year, but Glacier always gets some space in my garden.

This plant has lots of tomatoes already, early June, and they are about 3 oz. They are red-orange and more tangy than sweet. They have a very tomato-like flavor. The tomatoes are very juicy. Next year I'll put my tomato plants in cages because I can see several clusters of tomatoes are lying on the ground.
