Very productive shelling bean that can be cooked in far less time than other beans so you have the adva...Read Morentage of a quicker cooking time, mainly due to the soft nature of the bean and its thickness which is alot thinner and flatter than a lot of the more popular french beans and has a nice flavour, somewhat subtle and mellow.
The beans themselves are a pale "spearmint" green, flattish with an almost defined straight edge at one end while the pods are a smooth light green, thin showing a bump where the bean is rather than tubular like a pencil.
Flowers are white and almost pea like in appearance.
Popular in France as the name suggests.
