It ...Read Moregenerally gets about 18-24 inches tall, but can get a bit taller if established and in direct sunlight. it has pbf which is purple based foliage but is hard to detect on the leaves like most pbf variety iris, you have to look for it, at the base of the plant were the leaves start above the rhizome and on the sides of the unopen flower buds. It is distinguished from the yellow variety "Aurea" by Jacques,of the same height, by this pbf foliage, slightly darker gold tinge of shade yellow than Aurea which is lighter, and a small white area on the falls directly below the beard. this small white area on the lower beard sometimes exhibits a small purple dot thought to be from the pbf. this purple dot area on the lower beard is also a trait in the much taller similar color tall bearded iris 'Coronation' by Moore 1927.
