I bought this in a one gallon pot last year in early spring because I loved the color of the blooms. I did not water the plant at all in...Read More the summer (and we get no summer rain here in SF). In early spring this year again I was rewarded with many blooms. The flowers bloom in succession over several weeks. The flowers are amazingly lovely as well as being very colorful. This plant takes little effort here in San Francisco, and the gorgeous blooms arrive in early spring before many other flowers are blooming.

This plant is in danger of extinction in its native South Africa. Make sure plants or bulbs were nursery grown.
