Native to easte...Read Morern South Africa, it grows between rocks in protected locations, getting little if any direct sunlight. It is a perennial and likes moisture year round, though less in colder seasons. It grows flat agains the ground and maintains only 2-4 leaves at a time. Roots are pretty large for a bulb. Supposedly very apt to be attacked by mealy bugs.
