On the less-than-wonderful side, once it gets to blooming it tends to get leggy and flop over. I tie it up with a stake at its back, and trim it for a neater look. In August it gets a big chop. It's likely best as a middle-of-the-crowd plant. The problem for me has been the sprawling and not the spreading which is easily managed. It's also easy to divide and move around.

But much of the lf flowers have faded (there might be 1 bright pink and the rest are just greyed out) and now they are tall enough that they are falling over and half of the stalks are laying on ground or on the plants around them and it's not very attractive. It gets water but not too much (I saw that it tends to like dry areas and yes it gets lots of sun.) I'm not sure what to do with it -- do I prune it back.to shorten the stalks? It's mid July so we'd have enough time for it to grow back some. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thank you.

Flowers are a very pretty pink (starts out a definite pink that fades to light pink as the flower ages) that goes well with the delicate ferny leaves.
However, give this one some room. Mine has quadrupled in size in one year by sending out root shoots. Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous plant, but expecting it to stay somewhat contained was a mistake on my part. I'll be digging/splitting it probably every other year if this growth rate continues. Thus, the neutral rating.
Bottom line: If you want a prolific flowering plant to fill in a space in a larger-area garden, or a show stopper to dominate in a small garden, this plant's for you!
