It requires little care other than watering (not terribly thirsty) and I cut it back during it's blooming season and then rather a hard cut back in late winter for a big new growth in spring. The color always amazes me. It grows about 4 feet tall in it's large pot. Am certain, in the ground, it would be a different story but contained as it is Salvia guaranitica has been one of those perfect plants you hope for.
