I love columbines but it's been said they cannot grow in peninsular Florida, i'm trying this species out since it grows in Texas. i start...Read Moreed the seeds in January and have had them growing in pots on the driveway in full sun. i recently up-poted them to 1 gallon pots. medium i'm using is a mixture of store-bought "garden soil" and vermiculite for drainage (i am avoiding native FL soil because apparently root knot nematodes really like columbines).
so far so good. it is July and they do not seem to mind the heat and i only water them when it hasnt rained in a week.
