"Thrilled to see a new leaf emerging on this excruciatingly slow grow...Read Moreing Anthurium luxurians, which is prized mainly for its deeply bullate (puckering or quilted) texture. I got this plant, previously known as Anthurium spledidum, at a garden festival here in 2016, with just two leaves. With the latest new leaf, there are seven now. As the leaf unfurls, it starts on a light red to almost pink color and slowly deepens to a dark green with some hints of blue. The bullate texture increases making the thick and leathery leaf really stand out. The leaves, which can grow large (will probably take years), are unusual in that they are created much like the facets of a cut diamond, each “facet" reflecting the light in a different way."

"New Anthurium luxurians (Quilted Heart) leaf is as stunning as when it’s mature. It’s by far one of the most dramatic and unique Anthuriums on the market. Gushed one grower: “It is said that Anthurium veitchii is the King Anthurium and that Anthurium warocqueanum is the queen. If this is the case, Anthurium luxurians has to be the Prince.” New leaf emerges reddish and coppery in tone, turning dark bronze green and deep green when mature. The thick bullate leaves feel as thick as cardboard and look as though they have been lacquered. The leaf surface is highly corrugated with deep veins and look quilted. The deep green petioles are square. A dramatic foliage plant worth collecting."
