However.
This is certainly NOT a climber, nor can it be reasonably "trained" to climb. Anything. The stems are rigid, massive, and extraordinarily brittle. Today we had high winds [20-30 mph], and had two 5-foot stems from different plants shatter off at the base. It is not possible to move or bend or train these chalk-like stems to any degree whatever.
I had planted 8 Brite Eyes along a split-rail fence 2 years ago, foolishly expecting to be able to support 6 foot runners with the rails. Instead, I have these clumps of huge, upright stems, like shabby candelabra. I am seriously considering ripping them all out, after all this work and expense. Please consider this cultivar's growth habits before adding it to your landscape.

When they are fully open they don't have fully developed petals in the middle. They have 7 or 8 large petals and as they open in the middle the petals are smaller and turned inward. It is constantly in bloom. It does get black spot but we had blackspot every where this year even on the most resistant roses. I also got a bug on the plant that I will upload. It ate perfectly circular holes in the petals.. It is actually kind of pretty.. Maybe someone can identify this problem for me. This plant tolerates pruning very well. I cut it almost down to about a foot high this spring and it came back beautiful and is now about 5 ft . I deadhead it but it it will drop its flower and rebud on its own easily. If we don't have as much blackspot next spring I may try not pruning this rose next spring and see how hight it will grow.
I just acquired this plant and will report back with growing experience and pics.
