Fruit: size medium, W57-74 x L51-57 mm; shape intermediate, rectangular ...Read Moreto slightly conic, convex, slightly ribbed at the calyx basin and on the body, sometimes on prominent rib; skin yellow (dull) almost entirely covered with deep red blush and darker streaks, a few light dots, greasy, rather tough; flesh crisp, fine, very white; flavor sweet, subacid, scented; harvest season second early. Tree: bears regularly, appears to be susceptible to fire blight; tendency to produce long, spindly branches.
McIntosh x Worcester Pearmain Raised 1929, first fruited 1936; selected about 1940; introduced in England 1945, Canada & USA 1946. Commercial synonym 1963.
