In early spring it is easy to forget just how lovely it is, when you see it growing in places you don't want it... but i leave several good sized patched of it throughout my garden, because while in bloom it is SO WORTH IT. The cheeriest, giant butter-cup flowers that open with the sun and close in the evening (I like to call them sundrops, not evening primrose, since they do not open in the evening). Also, in late summer the foliage turns bright red and lasts through the fall. A very beautiful plant which requires a bit of patience.
