Moved to a large container while we made a place for it. Finally, in it's third home, it's happy. Last summer we had 8 persimmons, and cherished each one. There is lots of fruit this year but we'll see how much we end up with. My sister also has a tree also, planted last year in Fallbrook (southern CA). She got 10 persimmons. The race is on!
The tree is lovely - a beautiful yellow green, waxy leaf.
There is a home here in Santa Rosa, CA, where years ago someone planted one of these trees very close to her house - about 8-10' from the front. So, she has made three levels of her tree (there must be a formal name for this) to keep it somewhat contained. It's beautiful and a great solution for a small-ish space.
If you haven't tried this fruit, please do. But don't judge it from grocery stores - find a farmers' market.
