My patch provides the first splash, of early spring color. In just a few days, it erupts, from bare ground, to a patch of emerald green - studded with brilliant yellow flowers, on six inch stems. In Anchorage, AK it blooms middle to late May, but much later at higher elevations. It is a hardy little plant, and thrives in moist partial shade. It has excellent potential as a cultivator. At a quick glance, in the wild, it is easily mistaken, for a buttercup.
