We always se...Read Moreemed to have a late frost which killed all the leaf buds on the old wood, and the plants would have to start up from new shoots out of the ground. The variegated foliage is pretty, so it was still an attractive plant. The move to Zone 7b has made all the difference in the flowering, as they have bloomed every year after they got established in the first year after we planted them. The flowers are a lovely blue, and they are flourishing in our woodland garden in dappled shade. They can wilt a bit on really hot days, but they perk up by the next morning or after watering.
