The past 3 springs when th...Read Moree plant comes out of the basement, it flushes out beautifully with large dark green leaves. then as soon as it begins to bud, from the bottom up the leaves turn lighter in color till they yellow, then dry up around the edges and die. this has been my problem for the past 3 yrs. it will still bloom, not showy or very large trumpets, but it will bloom. All of its leaves are dead with the exception of a few ill colored straglers at the top of the plant. The leaves that haven't died yet, are a much lighter green, speckled w yellow, just waiting to turn solid yellow.
I have fertilized. i have tried more water and less water. This plant is sick and obviously has a difficiency and i am unable to help it. Can you help?

This is a hybrid of L'amour x Susanne. Bloom retains the strong yellowish/green coloring in the spines of the corolla.
