Growth habit in pot is on the delicate side. A lovely chartreuse colour to leaves. Flower is medium violet blue, somewhat smaller than 'Rosanne'. A very pretty plant. I'd say a medium growing size hardy geranium. AF grew enormous, at least 4' across, in my garden. Can't see 'Blue Sunrise' getting anywhere near to that.

Like other hardy geraniums, it isn't fussy about soil pH..
This originated in 1994 as a chance seedling in the nursery of Hans Kramer in the Netherlands. Its parentage is unknown, though it's been conjectured to be a hybrid of yellow-leafed 'Ann Folkard' and G. wallichianum 'Buxton's Variety'. I'm eager to try this, as it's likely to be more adaptable than the heat-intolerant 'Ann Folkard'.

The cultivar name is 'Blogold'. "Blue Sunrise" is a proprietary trade name owned by Blooms of Bressingham. It's also been sold as "Verguld Saffier".
