Formal Decorative Dahlia 'Gonzo Grape'

This is our first year with this dahlia variety. What a champ! It shot up (much higher than it was supposed to--"gonzo" indeed!) and bloo...Read Moremed prolifically from early August and is still going great guns. The plant seems strong and the blooms are a gorgeous magenta.

In recent years we have come to expect a drought through the summer, but this year it rained--often very hard--every day from the middle of June to the middle of August, so the sunshine/water experience was unusual, and our dahlias grew so much taller than expected that they were beaten over by the rains. I expect great things from this plant in the future.
