Best in part shade. In full sun, this may wilt wilt frequently without regular irrigation. This is also true of the parent species and not just this cultivar.
This is a well-behaved clump-former. Grows from a thick rhizome that's easily divided, vigorous but slow to spread. I recently saw this long-lived plant growing well in a garden abandoned twenty years ago.
In most respects this is a great garden plant---however, I'm not fond of the weakly anemic color of this cultivar, which to my eye makes it look like the many weeds in this genus. 'Firetail' and 'Golden Arrow', with deeper flower color, both knock my socks off.
