It is now early 2020, and my marina rose is at least 5 feet tall and a solid, bushy 4 feet wide! The grow in both short and long stemmed formations depending on the time of year. The blooms keep producing nearly all year. In 2019 they bloomed from February to November. They smell amazing and because of the abundance of blooms so does my yard! If you dry the petals the smell remains for several months but the color turns bright yellow with deep pink tips, which is still beautiful. They tend to turn salmon pink in too much heat, and cuttings should be kept Quite Cool or they will wilt rather quickly. This Bush is my pride and joy and having read about the patent expiring I will be taking great care to learn how to do cuttings as soon as possible you can bet!!

I tried to save the hundred or so rose bushes, but they were too far gone and I had no idea what I was doing because although I adored my father and his roses, I took no interest in gardening. Today my mother told me the name of the rose and said that I would never be able to get one because Jackson Perkins had a patent on it in the '70s and not only did they stop offering it, but nobody could reproduce it for sale. Please tell me this is not so. It would mean so much to me to be able to acquire one of these rose bushes (or more, being that I am a beginner). I am in NJ
